Minnesota Voice

Minnesota Voice partners with organizations who support our shared values in protecting our democracy and our collective fight for racial justice. We want to build and implement strong integrated voter programs based in census data and usage of the voter file. Our solution is to provide financial assistance to our partners through re-grants and create coordinate Voter Registration programs and Get Out The Vote efforts. Organizations come to Minnesota Voice for technical assistance and financial support in programming and technology tools for their civic engagement programs. Leading Minnesota Voice is our Executive Director, Hwa Jeong Kim who was a former Legislative Aide to a City Council President, a former Saint Paul Planning Commissioner and an alumna of Nexus Community Partners Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute. She has an extensive background in policy and governance, built on a foundational background in housing and grants management. She currently serves on a few non-profit boards and is active in the electoral campaigning landscape in Minnesota, she is working on her 7th cycle, electing women and people of color to office. Dre DeGuzman serves as Minnesota Voice’s Data Manager. As the Data Manager, Dre works with partner organizations using voter file and other technologies to support, enhance, and execute programs. Data continues to be a priority for our partners and Minnesota Voice. Much of our work is developing a framework for strong data collection, quality control, data cleaning, and knowledgeable users of the network. Since 2015, we re-granted over $180,000 to AAPI led and/or organizations who serve the AAPI community to assist them in capacity building. We also support our partners by implementing strong integrated Voter Engagement programs and engage in issue advocacy and long-term power building.
