The Issue:

Eric Yuan, Steve Chen, Eric Ly, or Manoj Bhargava. Ever heard of them? They are the founders of Zoom , YouTube , LinkedIn, and 5-hour Energy ! Twenty-three million Asian Americans are an integral part of American society, but are often unrecognized, ignored, or scapegoated. According to a recent survey, 42% of Americans can’t name one famous Asian American. How about Kamala Harris? Perceptions of AAPIs can be highly negative based on deep-seated and long-standing racism, little objective information, biased media, the coronavirus pandemic, political sound bites, and the erroneous view that the AAPI community is responsible for and supports actions that occur in Asian countries. We are all significantly influenced by AAPI contributions and by the U.S’s relationship with China. All Americans should learn more, but this isn’t taught in schools. So join us as we guide you to find out more about AAPIs – in a FAST, SNAPPY, and FUN way!
